Meetings » Snipes Farm Pig Pickin
The Annual Pig PIckin’ was a success!! Thank you to all who attended and made a trip out to Snipes Farm. As always, the food was delicious! As if the food wasn’t enticing enough, everyone who came was given a free one year membership sponsored by the AGD board and members of the Academy. As a bonus, we heard some wonderful speeches about why the AGD is working especially for general dentists in North Carolina to protect our profession politically and helping to improve access to care for those without dental care. With over 30 new members signing up at the dinner, we can continue to represent our profession and support for the AGD in numbers!
As a second year, I understand more than ever how important the AGD impacts us as dental students and especially how it will impact help impact us once we graduate. With AGD defending our interest in North Carolina and on “The Hill” its even more important that we have people supporting the group. So, if you didn’t get a chance to come this year, fret not! We will be having the event again next year.
It was also announced at the dinner that we will be starting the tradition of a CASINO night in Raleigh. All proceeds will support the MOM clinics and the NC dental bus. This exciting event will be held in downtown Raleigh and will be on February 20, 2009 at 8:00pm. Light hors d’oeurvres, cash bar, craps tables, blackjack, roulette, and much more. This is going to be a big event and we are looking forward to seeing everyone there. It will also be a great chance to meet dentists throughout the region while networking and having fun! Tickets and details can be found at www.tadsdental.org.
