Education » Mastertrack (MAGD)
This program is open to serious students of dentistry who are eager to learn and is designed to assist participants, not only in receiving continuing education credit, but in attaining a wealth of information and experience in all areas of dental care for the benefit of the patients they serve. The participants in our previous year’s program were trained by some of our most respected colleagues in the following studies providing 144 hours of participation credit.
Our up-coming Program will include review of Special Patient Care, Orthodontics, Pedodontics, Operative, Fixed Prosthedontics, Removable Prosthodontics, Esthetics, Oral Surgery, and Endodontics. Classes will commence once 20 participants are signed up. Up to 400 participation hours toward Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry will be available to those completing the approved study in these disciplines.
The weekend programs are very affordable ranging from $800.00- $900.00 each. Cost includes two days of lecture, class participation, lunches, and snacks. Any dentist, whether pursuing the mastership, fellowship, or CE for licensure may attend. You do not have to enroll in the entire program (approx.400 credit hours), but only the courses you want. All credits are applicable for licensure requirements of the N.C. State Board. To avoid duplication of credits- written notice should be given at the first class if the participant plans to attend lecture only sessions.
When I chose to participate in the initial Mastertrack Program offered by the NCAGD, little did I realize the professional impact this program would have upon me and my dental practice… From the first weekend of three seminars, I was able to bring back to my office information and techniques that have raised not only the quality of care I can offer my patients, but have also made dentistry more fun and innovative for me…we had the opportunity for intimate question and answer periods, friendly debate among peers, lecture, and hands on experience from both nationally known and the younger up and coming dental experts…Some hands on procedures we learned, such as free autogenous grafts, will still be better performed by my local periodontist, but I now have a better understanding of not only what criteria to look for, but what he has to do to achieve the result both my patient and I are anticipating. My hope is that more AGD members will take advantage of this diamond opportunity to improve their skills and knowledge.
